The Sickle and the Harvest

Some time ago, I had a dream. Now, that alone is worthy of note....because I almost never dream  This dream was clear----every detail is burned into my memory.  I woke with a heavy sense of significance and premonition.  In the dream we were in a city where the enemy was invading and would get to our town the next day.  We made haste to get ready to flee.  My husband thought we had plenty of time, but I was compelled by urgency...I knew we had to move and quickly.

We went to a store and there, we were instructed to pick out one item to aid us in our flight.  I chose a sickle, shiny and sharp as a razor.  And then I woke up.  I could not think of what the vision meant.  And that it was a prophetic vision, I was certain.  I spoke to my pastor about it.  He too, was certain that it was a vision but neither of us ahad an explanation. He told me to pray that God would reveal the meaning of it to me.

My first clue came when reading the book of Joel in the Old Testament. Chapter 3, vs 13  said:
"Swing the sickle for the harvest is ripe. Come tread the grapes for the winepress is full. The storage vats are overflowing with the wickedness of these people."

This revealed to me that the sickle was used in harvest and would play a role in the earth's last days.

Today, I read Revelation 14;14-19 And it says:

Then I saw a white cloud and seated on the cloud was someone like the Son of Man.  He had a gold crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand.  Then another angel came from the temple and shouted to the One sitting on the cloud, "Swing the sickle for the time of the harvest has come. The crop on earth is ripe" So the one sitting on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the whole earth was harvested.  After that another angel came from the Temple in heaven and he also had a sharp sickle, then another angel who had the power to destroy with fire, came from the altar. He shouted to the angel with the sharp sickle, "Swing your sickle now to gather the clusters of grapes from  the vines of the earth for  they are ripe for judgment." So the angel swung his sickle over the earth and loaded the grapes into the winepress of God's wrath.."

This vision showed me that the sickle would be both for the harvesting of God's people to remove them from the earth so that they would not be destroyed by the judgment and it was also used to carry out God's judgment on those who do not acknowledge him as Lord.

The harvest is ripe. The time is short. Verse 14 of Joel 3 says, "Thousands  upon thousands are waiting in the Valley of Decision. There, the Day of the Lord will soon arrive."

I cannot stress urgently enough the need for action if you are hanging around the Valley of Decision and have put off acknowledging Jesus as Lord and Messiah. You may know in your heart that what God's Word says is true, but  have not yet submitted to him as Lord and Savior.  Time is running out quickly.  Do not delay!
