Day three-- For Him who Endures...

“He that shall endure to the end, the same shall be saved."  Matt 24:13
Definition of “endure”:
 1. suffer (something painful or difficult) patiently.
synonyms:
undergo, go through, experience, meet, encounter;
cope with, deal with, face, suffer, tolerate, put up with, bear, withstand, sustain,
  2. remain in existence; last.

As you see, the stakes are high.  It’s those who see it through patiently who will be saved…regardless of the type of suffering.

This verse can also apply to caregivers…do you remain patient with the daily challenges your loved one presents? Is the light of your love a steady, brightly shining light?

The word endure also captures the variable of time. “Steadfast” is a word that comes to mind.  Are others encouraged when they see your suffering and the spirit of peace, hope and joy you have despite it? Does your light shine brightly month by month; year by year?  Caregivers, are your love and patience unshaken by time and the worsening condition of your loved one?

Does it seem like no one knows?  No one sees? No one cares? Isolation is so hard both for the person needing care and the caregiver.  But rest assured: the eyes of God never look away from you in your pain and need.  Even if no other person on earth knows or cares about you. He does and He is cheering you on day by day.  Keep your eyes on the finish line and be determined to endure patiently to the end.

Prayer Focus: Pray for the needs of the caregivers you know...For patience, gentleness, self-control, peace and love and yes, joy—Because they are Jesus’ hands to someone who is suffering. What a privilege they have! To Love and serve as Jesus would!
