• A daughter who's grown out of all the oat sowing phases causing me horror and fear who now smiles and laughs at the slightest provocation
• A maybe future son-in-law whom I love like my own son/(brother)?
• Celebrations of dual birthdays
• Giving both kids gifts that make them exclaim in happiness
• Neck-breaking hugs 
• Making my grown up "baby" a grilled cheese sandwich, just like she's always liked it
• Planning her favorite dinner for birthday night
• Having my parents get to see my daughter all grown up and happy, finally.
