Of Storms and Snakes

We are expecting severe storms here today. I was praying not to be frightened but to live in God's peace. ("Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you...not as the world gives....do not let your heart be troubled, neither be afraid."John 14:27) I said "Lord, I know that you will bring me through whatever comes and that we will be okay. But I confess, I'm a little nervous to tell you I'm okay with whatever comes. What if then you bring something terrible?" And instantly He answered "What kind of a father, if his child asks for bread, would give him a stone, or for a fish, and gives him a snake? IF YOU, BEING SINFUL FATHERS AND MOTHERS, KNOW HOW TO GIVE GOOD GIFTS TO YOUR CHILDREN, HOW MUCH MORE DOES YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER KNOW HOW TO GIVE GOOD GIFTS TO YOU?"(Mt. 7:9-11)
And then I sighed and smiled:. Fear Gone.
